While teaching myself how to use the embroidery machine at the Maker Studio where I work, I came across a technique to create a one-color bookmark. I thought that was boring, but realized I could add to the process and make multi-colored earrings.
After many failures, I perfected the technique and designed dozens of pairs that library patrons can remake for themselves. I also teach patrons how to make custom designs.
The earrings have become a trend at the local elementary school. Every few days a new kid will come in and tell me about how their friend made "awesome" earrings at the library. We then make awesome earrings of their own.
